Our pick of Sussex Barn Venues

Following a recent booking at Old Selden Farm Barn in Patching it got us thinking about all the gorgeous barn venues on offer in Sussex!  We are truly spoilt for choice.  In my previous life as a wedding photographer (for 8 years) I have seen a number of the Sussex barn venues first hand and think I can offer a little background on many of them.  Here are my top 10 (in no particular order):

Upwaltham Barn Courtyard

Upwaltham Barns – We have been lucky enough to photograph at Upwaltham numerous times over the past ten years.  With separate ceremony and reception barns, a bridal suite, a large enclosed courtyard, a gorgeous cosy garden and stunning hills and views all around.  Upwaltham is a fantastic barn venue, and one of our favourites.

Fitzleroi Barn, Fittleworth – Set in gorgeous surroundings, a large secluded courtyard really makes this a stunning venue to hold a fabulous wedding for up to 180 guests!

Farbridge Photo Opportunity

Farbridge, Nr Chichester – Chock full with superb photo opportunities in the surrounding fields, rustic gateways and with views all around, we have loved photographing weddings at Farbridge and we are excited to be taking Rosie there in May!

Southend Barns, Chichester – A stunning new venue with separate ceremony and reception barns.  Complete with a large outdoor space and a spacious covered area, this venue have thought of everything!  There is even a gorgeous bridal suite for the happy couple.

The Sussex Barn, Hellingly – A fantastic traditional barn, full of rustic charm.  Set in the middle of gorgeous farmland, The Sussex Barn has an outdoor courtyard and covered area with lovely scenic views.

The English Wine Centre, Alfriston – A large barn with bar and a large flat garden area for guests to mingle among the established planting and trees.  Separate from the main Wine Centre, this little gem is a hidden wonder!

Long Furlong Barn, Clapham (nr Worthing) – Another new venue, which looks set to be a huge success.  Looking on to rolling hills and stunning fields the owners have created a secluded courtyard and a gorgeous space.  Fingers crossed we can take Rosie here soon…

Bartholemew Barn, Kirdford

Bartholemew Barn, Kirdford – This a very pretty and intimate venue, with a walled courtyard and gorgeous barn.  The owners have created a fabulous garden with a pretty archway and gazebo.  The barn is set in amongst open fields with a magical woodland backdrop.

Grittenham Barn, Tillington – We’ve not been to Grittenham Barn yet, but Rosie is booked in for a wedding in early May.  The barn looks amazing and the stunning flower gardens, so pretty.  Can’t wait!

Old Selden Farm Barn, Patching – Considering its so close to home, its surprising we haven’t visited Old Selden Farm Barn before.  It looks full of gorgeous rustic charm and elegant features.  Very happy to have a booking here in 2014 but we have to wait until November!

And Finally, special mention to The Tithe Barn near Petersfield.  Ok, its Hampshire not Sussex, but we love this venue for its scale, style and pure elegance.  Rosie has already been to the Tithe Barn for Charlotte and George’s wedding back in August, her very first wedding no less, and we had a wonderful time!

At Caravan Photo Booth we love barn venues because they provide Rosie with a perfect backdrop to her vintage style and elegance.  Rosie is a perfect addition to barn weddings providing a photo booth with a real difference.
